Hello everyone! Today I have a project to share with you that I created for the Miss Kate Cuttables Blog. I just got a new Cricut Explore Air during the launch on HSN. I was really excited when it arrived so I decided to use it to create my project for Miss Kate. Since I’m really new to all of the workings of this awesome machine I wanted to keep my project simple so I created my first Easter card. Here is the file that I used for my project.
And here is the card that I created.
Instead of using all of the cuts from the eggs I wanted to cut them with some design paper. So I just used the back layer.
I also wanted my Easter eggs to come out of the basket so I created little photo mats out of them.
I used lots of dimension to the front part of the basket. I stamped my sentiment on some kraft paper and punched it out with an oval punch and layered it on a scalloped oval punch. I added a couple of homemade enamel dots as well.
I added some design paper to the inside of the card to finish it off and added some more homemade enamel dots.
That’s my card. I hope you like it. I’m still learning about my new Cricut Explore Air. It’s a pretty amazing machine! Have a great week!
I am super excited to share a project that I will be teaching at SimpLee Memories on Saturday, March 21. All of the registration information is found on the SimpLee Memories website. Hope to see you there!
Hi everyone! Today I have a quick video to share. I am participating in a swap over at My Scrap Room. I haven’t done a swap in a very long time and when I saw that this swap was using the pages in my Vertical Paper Bag Mini Album I thought it would be fun to do.
Hello everyone! Today I have an altered journal to share. I love the new Graphic 45 Artisan Style Paper Collection. I used it along with one of the gorgeous Antique Brass Door Knockers for my journal! Thanks for watching!
Hello everyone! My niece contacted me and asked if I could create something for her daughters thirteenth birthday. She wanted a “time capsule” in which her daughters friends could write little notes and they could be saved and then given back to her daughter when she turned twenty one. So this is what I came up with! It’s a take in an explosion box. I created the box out of medium weight chipboard and then attached a pocket style mini album to the inside. I really like how it turned out and the best thing is so did my niece and her daughter!
My card measures 6×6. I used some kraft cardstock for the background of the card. I ran the cardstock through an embossing folder to give it some texture. I then layered the Miss Kate Wild About You title. I inked around the edges with walnut stain distress ink to help it stand out from the background. I then layered on the cute little peeking tiger at the bottom and tied a fun bow with some gingham ribbon.
I really like how it turned out.
Make sure you check out the Miss Kate blog for more inspiration! Have a great week!
