I’ve had some requests about how we do videos. My husband takes care of the technical stuff. I’m the creative talent, so I’ll let him explain. He promised to keep it short.
We use an iPhone 5s as our video camera. It shoots 1080p HD and does extremely well in low light. That’s important because we only shoot in natural light – the color is more accurate.
A Glif holds the iPhone and attaches to a tripod.
The tripod is a pro model – Vanguard Alta Pro 263AB 100 Aluminum Tripod – with a center post that can be set horizontally, allowing the iPhone to be positioned directly above the scrapbook or card.
We use a condenser microphone – Blue Microphones Snowball USB Microphone (Electric Blue) – to improve the sound quality. It comes in colors besides electric blue. (My wife wanted pink.)
The microphone doesn’t plug directly into the iPhone 5s, so we purchased a Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.
iMovie software is used to produce the final video. It comes free with every Mac.
We use Mac computers. Video production is done on an iMac, but sometimes a MacBook Air.

FABULOUS!!! Thanks to you (and your husband!) for sharing this info! Enjoy your weekend guys!
Thank you for sharing this. It makes doing a video seem “do-able” even without expensive equipment.
I don’t have MAC so I am wondering what other apps others might use with their Android phone. Thanks for sharing Ginger. Love love love what you share.
On a PC you should be able to use Windows Movie Maker.
Way too confusing for me! I think hubby did a great job for those that needed the info.

Gee, looks so much more professional than my webcam duct taped onto a swing arm lamp. LOL Bonus points for your hubby for a job well done.
Thanks for the explanation. Very easy to follow. Love your videos, and tutorials. Very beautiful but even better, very easy to follow.
Thanks so much for sharing! I have been tossing the idea of making videos around in my head, but had been intimidated by the techno part of it all!
