Hey everyone! Here is the card I created as part of the Cardztv Stamps Design Team. The challenge was “Color Me Happy.” Create a card, layout, or project using the colors marigold yellow, royal blue, rich purple, and gray only. You can also use some white and black.
For my card I used the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge for my cute pirate Octopus and my sentiment came from the “A Day at the Beach” Cardztv Stamp set.
My card measures 5×7. The first mat is gray and it measures 4-3/4 x 6-3/4. The second mat is royal blue and it measures 4-1/2 x 6-1/2. The third mat is marigold yellow and measures 4-1/4 x 6-1/4. I then added a background mat for the octopus which is royal blue and marigold yellow. The royal blue mat is 4×4 and the marigold yellow is 3-3/4 x 3-3/4.
I cut my octopus out in rich purple. The cardstock is from Bazzill and it is embossed with small dots. The octopus and all of the layers were cut at 4 inches. I used a white gel pen on the telescope to add some small dash lines and put him on an Action Wobble.
I stamped my “Ahoy!” sentiment on a small piece of white cardstock using Black Stazon. I then layered my sentiment onto a small piece of royal blue cardstock that I had cut out a notch on one end to make it look like a flag. I added a piece of royal blue satin ribbon and some rich purple buttons to finish off the front.
Well that’s my card. Come join the fun over at Cardztv for this super fun color challenge!
