Jungle Birthday Card

Jungle Birthday Card

Hey everyone! Hope you are having a good day so far. The Cricut Cardz Challenge this week was to make a child’s birthday card using something you would see in a jungle. Here’s my entry.

Jungle Birthday Card 1

My card measures 6-1/2 x 5 inches. I cut a purple mat that measures 6-1/4 x 4-3/4 inches and a patterned paper mat that measures 6×4-1/2 inches. I used the Create A Critter Cartridge to cut the zebra at 4-1/2 inches.

Jungle Birthday Card 2

I added a strip of green design paper at the bottom and a piece of lavender ribbon at the top. I layered together a few prima flowers with a zebra print brad for the center.

I stamped my Happy Birthday sentiment and added it to the inside of the card along with a strip of the design paper.

Birthday Bash Challenge Entry

Birthday Bash Challenge Entry

Hey everyone, just want to share my entry for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. The challenge was “Birthday Bash”. We were to make a birthday project. I decided to create a card. Here is what I came up with.

Birthday Bash Challenge Entry1

My card measures 5 x 6-1/2 inches. I used the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge for the Hippo on the front of my card. He is cut at 4-1/2 inches.

I found a cute little party hat and pinwheel on the same cartridge, however I just wanted to cut the party hat so I used my Gypsy to hide the pinwheel cut.

Birthday Bash Challenge Entry2

The green patterned mat measures 4-3/4 x 6-1/4 inches. I added some hot pink tiny rick rack to the top of the card and stamped my Happy Birthday sentiment onto ivory cardstock then used my circle punch to cut it out.

I added a piece of the design paper that I had edge punched to the inside of the card to finish it off.

All the Best Birdhouse Card

All the Best Birdhouse Card

Happy Friday! Here is another card I created. I used the birdhouse image and tree branch image from the Serenade Cricut Cartridge.

All the Best Birdhouse Card 1

The card measures 5 x 6-1/2 inches. The blue mat is cut at 4-3/4 x 6-1/4 inches. The birdhouse was cut at 4-1/2 inches and the tree branch was cut at 2-1/4 inches.

I wanted the center hole of the birdhouse to be a different color so I used a 1 inch circle punch to do this.

All the Best Birdhouse Card 2

The pattern paper is from DCWV Baby Girl Stack and the blue mat is Bo Bunny Double Dot. I added a small cloud that is cut from the Cricut Imagine Stock Images.

The cloud is cut at 1-1/2 inches. I inked around the cloud with some Broken China Distress Ink. I stamped my sentiment on the cloud with some brown Staz-On ink.

Have a great weekend!

Kate’s ABC Hat card

Kate’s ABC Hat card

Hey everyone, here is another card I created using the Kate’s ABC’s Cricut Cartridge. I love this cartridge. There are several hat images on this cartridge so that’s what I decided to cut out.

Kate's ABC Hat card 1

The card measures 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 inches. The green pattern mat is 4 x 5-1/4 inches and the pink pattern mat is 3-3/4 x 5 inches. The paper is from DCWV Baby Girl Stack.

Kate's ABC Hat card 2

I cut the hat using some Bo Bunny blue dot paper and cut the image at 2-3/4 inches. The flower trim centers were so small that I used some buttons for the centers.

I added dimension to the card by adhering the hat to the card with foam tape. I used blue ribbon with white dots at the top of the card.

That’s it, thanks for stopping by.

Happy Wednesday! Here is card I created using the Nifty Fifties Cricut Cartridge. I love the car image on this cartridge. My card measures 5 x 10-1/2 inches. (click photo to enlarge)

Cruisin Card1

I added a solid pink mat that measures 4-3/4 x 10-1/4 inches then layered a green patterned mat on top which measures 4-1/2 x 10 inches. I cut the car at 3-1/4 inches using DCWV Glittered paper. I used solid pink for the car body.

Who doesn’t want a pink convertible?

Cruisin Card2

The phrase was cut at 1-1/4 inches. I used a white gel pen to add some highlights to the phrase as well as the tires. I did add some pink glittered rick rack at the bottom of the card.

Well that’s my card for today. Happy scrapping!

Sweet Cherries Little Girl Apron

Sweet Cherries Little Girl Apron

Hey everyone, ok so my project today isn’t a paper craft project at all. It’s a sewing project. I just had to share this cute little apron I created.

My niece asked me to make a little apron for her friends’ daughters’ birthday. She said that her parents were getting her a play kitchen so she thought she needed a cute little apron to go along with the kitchen set. She didn’t request any specific colors so I just picked something that I thought would be cute for a 2 year old.

Sweet Cherries Little Girl Apron 1

I found this darling cherry fabric and coordinating fabric at a local fabric store. I used a child’s butcher style canvas apron as a pattern.

I added a ruffle to the bottom and a pocket to the top. I added more pockets just above the ruffle and found some coordinating rick rack trim in my stash to embellish the lower pocket. I added a small piece of the green trim to the upper pocket also.

Well that’s it! I think it turned out pretty cute. I also made a small little potholder to match. Thanks for stopping by!

Back to School Cricut Cardz Challenge

Back to School Cricut Cardz Challenge

Well here it is Monday already. I think the weekend went by way too fast. Anyway, here is my entry for the Cricut Cardz Challenge.

The challenge was Back to School – The 3 R’s. We were to use Ribbon, Rhinestones, and Red. We could use any cartridge we wanted.

Back to School Cricut Cardz Challenge 1

My card measures 5×6-1/2 inches. I have a solid black mat that is 4-3/4 x 6-1/4 and then I have the blue patterned mat that measures 4-1/2 x 6 inches. I used the Create a Critter Cartridge to cut out my apple and the cute Bookworm. Both are cut at 3-3/4 inches.

The cloud is a stock image off the Cricut Imagine and it is cut at 2 inches. I added some Bo Bunny Ribbon at the top, and of course my Apple is red so all I need was to add some rhinestones to the worms antennae and to the corner of the card.

Back to School Cricut Cardz Challenge 2

I added the letters A B C to the front of my apple. They are cut at 1-1/4 inches from the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge.

Well that’s my card. Thanks for stopping by!

Cardstock – Recollections, American Crafts
Patterned Paper – DCWV Crafty Stack, Bo Bunny Dot
Ink – Tim Holtz Distress in Vroken china, Vntage Photo
Ribbon – Bo Bunny

Piece of Cake Challenge Entry

Piece of Cake Challenge Entry

Hey everyone, just want to share my entry for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog. The challenge was “Piece of Cake”. We were to make a project with a cupcake, or piece of cake, or any other baked good so I decided to create a card. Here is what I came up with.

Piece of Cake Challenge Entry Front

My card measures 5 x 6-1/2 inches. I used the Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge for the Cupcake on the front of my card. The cupcake is cut at 4 inches.

I used all of the layers including the shadow, however when I cut the shadow I didn’t want too much of the shadow to show so I cut the shadow piece a little smaller. The solid purple mat measures 4-3/4 x6-1/4 inches. The green patterned layer measures 4-1/2 x 6 inches. The butterfly printed mat measures 4-1/4 x 5-3/4 inches.

Piece of Cake Challenge Entry closeup

I added some ribbon trim to the top of my card and tied on a tiny tag with some twine from The Twinery and added a sticker that says “sweet”.

I used My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky patterned paper for my card and the cupcake. Once my card was finished I added some Cotton Candy Stickles to the cupcake frosting!

Well, that’s it! Thanks for stopping by!
